Golf Course Rules
We ask that all golfers observe the following rules. Adherence to these rules will ensure EVERYONE has a great round at Oxbow County Golf Course. THANK YOU!
Dress Code
- Ladies - no halter tops, or spaghetti-strap tank tops.
- Men - no muscle shirts, no sleeveless shirts.
- Clean, non-ripped jeans are acceptable.
- Shorts of appropriate length (> 3” inseam) are acceptable.
- Proper golf footwear must be worn (no metal spikes).
Alcohol
- ALGC law forbids any alcoholic beverages on the course unless purchased from Oxbow Country Golf Course; absolutely no outside alcoholic beverages are to be allowed on the premises.
- Oxbow Employees have the right to confiscate any unauthorized alcohol and/or ask uncooperative patrons to leave the premises.
- No picnic coolers are allowed on the premises; Oxbow provides small coolers with a minimal deposit.
- ALL patrons who look 25 years of age or younger will be asked to provide identification prior to being served alcoholic beverages.
Golfing Rules & Etiquette
- All players must have their own set of clubs and golf bag.
- Maximum 4 players per group; walkers will be allowed at the discretion of Oxbow Management.
- Power carts must be driven in a respectful manner; driver must be at least 16 years of age.
- Any Oxbow Country Golf Course employee has the right to recover any cart driven in a disrespectful manner and ask the offending group to leave the course.
- Maintenance personnel will be given the right of way at all times.
- Rowdy behavior will not be tolerated and abusive players will be asked to leave the course.
- All carts (power and pull) must be kept at least 30 feet from the greens and stay on cart path in tee box area; carts should not be pulled or driven between greens and traps; carts should be kept on paths where available.
- Golfers must replace all divots taken and repair ball marks on greens.
- Golfers must rake footprints, ball marks and club marks in the sand traps after hitting from them.
- Golfers should place all trash in the containers provided.
- Golfers should refrain from leaving cigarette butts on all golf course playing areas, particularly greens and tee boxes.
- No Sunflower seeds allowed on the course.
- Rain checks will be issued at the discretion of Oxbow Management and Employees.
- Oxbow Country Golf Course is not responsible for personal injury, lost or stolen items.
- Golfers are responsible for any damages to golf course property, power carts and equipment.
Speed of Play
- A 9-hole round of golf at Oxbow should take no more that 2 hours.
- Speed of play is the responsibility of the golfer and is monitored by the Player’s Assistant.
- A maximum of 5 minutes should be taken for a ball search.
- Golfers should allow faster players to play through.
- Groups that are unable to maintain pace of play will be moved to open holes or may be asked to leave if uncooperative.
